Award-winning author Lori Scott has a husband (Jim) and two children (Michael and Meghan Rose). Lori teaches second grade at Richmond Elementary, but she used to teach first grade just like Mrs. Arnold! Unlike Mrs. Arnold, however, Lori buys cereal for the prizes and reads the comic section of the newspaper first. To entertain kids like me, sometimes Lori will write her name forward and backward at the same time or recite JABBERWOCKY, a silly poem by Lewis Carroll. Even though Lori is a teacher, she does author presentations for schools. (That's like being a secret agent. How cool is that?) If you're interested in having her visit your school, why not contact her by email with “book a school visit” in the subject line?

Illustrator Stacy Curtis is one of my most favorite people in the world. And that’s not because of his dog, Derby, who is very nice (and slobbery). Or because of his wife, Jann, who is also very nice (but not slobbery).
It’s because Stacy has magic fingers.
With his magic fingers, Stacy has drawn award-winning editorial cartoons, comic strips, posters and illustrations for books ... including MINE! Check out Stacy's newest award winning illustration.
