Meghan’s Bubble Blowing Fun
I can’t blow bubblegum, but I still like blowing bubbles. You can make
your own bubble mixture and bubble wand. You need:
4 cups of water
1/3 cup hand dishwashing soap
1 tablespoon of glycerin (Mom says it’s in the lotion aisle of drug stores)
clean plastic butter lid
scissors
pan (larger than the butter lid)
- Mix the water, soap, and glycerin together.
- Pour the bubble mixture into the pan.
- Cut WOWIE- looking shapes into the butter lid.
- Dip butter lid into the mixture. Blow. Watch the bubbles
fly!
Did you know…?
You can see lots of colors in bubbles. That’s because
light is bouncing off the inside and outside of the bubbles.
And when the light gets all kangaroo bouncy like that, it splits
into all those bright colors. (Wish I could do that.)
Meghan’s Kangaroozie Box
Kangaroozies come in a super special box. You can make your
own super special box and use it to store your favorite things.
You need:
An adult
An empty shoebox
Wrapping paper
Scissors
Clear tape
Things for decorating, like glue, glitter, stickers, markers,
pom-poms, or buttons
- Take the lid off the shoebox.
- With an adult’s help, wrap the lid in wrapping paper.
Set it aside.
- Now ask that handy adult to help you wrap the outside of
the shoebox. When you are done, the lid should slip on and
off with ease.
- Thank your adult for her help, but let her know you can
do the rest on your own.
- Your adult might want to help anyway because it’s
a fun project. It’s okay to let her share the fun.
- Add decorations to the outside of the box and lid.
- TA DA! You can store toys, books, paper, rocks, crayons,
and other handy things in your newzie, doozie, Kangaroozie
box!
