Make Your Own Jokes

You can make up your own jokes! It’s not hard. Ryan mostly tells GROANERS. Groaner jokes are usually puns, or word plays.

How Ryan Does It:

  1. If he wants some “on stage” jokes to go with my book, he thinks of show-type words like magician, dance, theatre, movies, television, radio, DVD, and music.
  2. He plays with the words. Mew sounds like the first part of the word music. So do the words clue, flew, and glue.
  3. He chooses one answer (mew-sical), and then makes up a question to go with it (What kind of entertainment does a cat like?). TA DA!
  4. Need another example? There are plenty. What kind of entertainment would a detective like? (A CLUE-sical). A bird? (A FLEW-sical). Mrs. Arnold? (A GLUE-sical).
